About Hathaway Law Group
Hathaway Law Group is a woman-owned and operated law firm based in Missoula, Montana. We take a holistic, collaborative approach to every legal matter — making sure our clients feel heard, informed, and confident at every step.
We believe every family deserves honest, thoughtful legal guidance — without the intimidation of a traditional law firm. Our goal: guide you through the process so you can move forward with confidence.
Our Story
Hathaway Law Group was founded by Shannon Hathaway on a simple belief: good legal work means listening first and advocating always.
Shannon brought Abby Shea on board to lead the estate planning practice, and together they've built something that doesn't quite look like most law firms in Missoula — approachable, collaborative, and genuinely invested in every client they work with.

Shannon Hathaway
Attorney
"For me, being a lawyer means more than being an advocate. It means being a witness to my client’s life. Seeing their ups downs, their struggles and triumphs in order to understand their wants and needs. It means knowing the broader context to find the best resolution."

"I don't take it lightly that clients come in and share some of the most personal details of their lives with me. That trust means a lot. My job is to make sure they leave feeling like every detail has been thought through and taken care of."
